Group tasks Oborevwori on youth empowerment


A group, Organisation for Global Youth Peace Empowerment and Development Initiative (OGYPEDI) has tasked the Delta  State Governor, His Excellency Sherriff Francis Oborevwori to take Youth empowerment as a crucial part of his administration to enjoy the support and earn the trust the teeming youths who gave him their votes.


The advice was given by the Secretary of the group Comrd Edah Bismarck after a brief executive meeting of the group in Asaba, the Delta state capital where he urged the Oborevwori led administration to leave no stone unturned in the task of ensuring that youths in the state are empowered positively in all ramifications.


He pointing out that youth empowerment is crucial for the development of the state and Nigeria at large, stressing that youth restiveness in some parts of the state and country is largely due to joblessness.

He added that the group will in its own way support youth empowerment programs of the Oborevwori administration if needs be as one of the cardinal goals of the organization is to “ensure that youths are well empowered in our local communities, country and on the global stage.”


Comrd Edah Bismarck, who spoke on behalf of national coordinator, Japhet Omene, emphasized that youth empowerment is key to national development economic growth.


“Youth empowerment by government at all levels is very crucial especially in a time that the youths are faced with the current economic hardship coupled with an alarming high rate of unemployment and job losses in the country”.


The group stated that the incoming led administration of Sherriff Francis Oborevwori would be on a positive side of history and posterity if it implements a blue print that would ensure youth’s empowerment and employment in the state as promised during his campaign.”
