PDP DELTA SOUTH ECHOES UNITY AHEAD OF 2023
Earlier today, the leadership of PDP Delta South Senatorial District ably led by Hon (Chief) Julius Takeme organized a meeting of party candidates and LGA chairmen in a quest to x-ray the outcomes of the primaries and build on the momentum already achieved. The meeting was specifically designed to look into individualistic issues and proffer specific solutions to the problems.
The Senatorial chairman while addressing the august visitors, inform the gathering of the need to further drive the reconciliation process to the ward to guarantee the desired unity ahead of the 2023 elections. According to him, candidates in attendance were to brief the party of the effects of their victory at their various constituents to enable the party organs swing into action to forestall any immediate or future eventualities within the party structure. Chief Takeme while expressing confidence of victory for the party, said all pending issues shall be resolved even to the ward level. One of the major reasons why we are a big family under the People’s Democratic Party.
Following the opening remarks and introduction of invited guests, PDP party candidates took turn to update the leadership of recent developments in their constituents, progress made, challenges and possible moves to overcome and or manage those issues. Those who spoke include: Hon Michael Diden, Hon Peter Asupa Forteta Burutu 1, Hon Emmanuel Sinebe Patani, Hon Fred Martins Warri North, Emomotimi Guwor Warri South West, Hon Bino Ewhede Isoko South 1, Hon Odior Bernard Isoko North, Hon Austin Uroye Warri South 1. Those who sent apologies include Hon(Chief) Ferguson Owun Isoko South 2, Hon Matthew Opuoru Warri South 2, Hon Pulla Ekpotuayerin Ebipade Burutu 2.
The six(6) PDP LGA chairmen that were present including the chairman of all party chairmen Hon(Dr) Isaac Wilkie spoke in their individual capacity as party leaders of their respective Local Government Areas. The points raised by the various LGA chairmen were properly considered. They reaffirmed their commitments to the principles of the PDP with the promise to do more at the grassroot levels.
While addressing newsmen, the host Hon Michael Diden stated that there is need for meeting of this nature to be held regularly after party primaries to enable quick resolution of pending disputes and enhance the party winning streak. According to him, the group shall continue to work to assuage discerning voices in the Senatorial District to guarantee that dominance in electioneering sequence.
Finally, the Delta South Senatorial chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Hon(Chief) Julius Takeme told Journalists that the objectives of the leadership is to review the outcome of the primaries, resolve pending issues if there are any and build on the already achieved successes. He mentioned that, scheduled courtesy visits to the former Governor of Delta State HE(Dr) Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan, Deputy Governor HE Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, Distinguish Sen James Manager, RT Hon Leo Ogor and a host of other party stalwarts in Senatorial District shall be carried within a short time.
He stressed the need for the party to be more united and redouble their effort especially with the emergence of HE Sen(Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa as the Vice Presidntial candidate of the party. He charged party faithfuls to keep faith while encouraging candidates to reach out to their opponents in the primaries to win their support. Moreso, Chief Takeme made it crystal clear that Delta State is indeed PDP and PDP is Delta State not just as a political party but as a party that has brought the dividend of democracy to the people. According to him, the fraudulent APC Government failed all indices of good governance and Nigerians are ready for the rescue mission from abysmal APC led Federal Government.
Consequently, Hon Smart Asekutu Warri North LGA Chairman spoke on behalf of the LGA chairmen from the Senatorial District while Hon(Chief) Favour Izoukumor spoke on behalf of the party LGA chairmen. Others who attended includes Hon Solomon Mikie, Hon Toju Ighomeyietan, Bishop Sunny Jero, Barr Richard Omare, etc
