Tidi vows to deal with miscreants in Warri South council
Following the recent misunderstanding between Ugbuwangue community and Hausa traders on Monday night, the Chairman of the Warri South council Area, Dr Michael Tidi, has vowed to deal ruthlessly with miscreants in the area.
Tidi, made this vow on Wednesday after are joint security meeting comprising security personnel, Representatives of Ugbuwangue community and the Hausa traders.
Tidi said that Ugbuwangue community has always been known as a peaceful community, but lamented that some miscreants in the community were trying to give the community a bad name.
He said henceforth anyone caught trying to cause crisis in the community will be dealt with according to the law.
He therefore called on the people of Ugbuwangue community and the Hausa traders to maintain peace in the community.
He said security men have been directed to move into the community and arrest any one engaging in unlawful practices in the area.
He advised youths in Ugbuwangue community to stop spreading false news on social media stressing that, it was high time the people of Warri stopped spreading negative stories about Warri.
The Warri South Council Boss, urged all residents doing legitimate businesses in Ogbuwangue community to go about their normal businesses, but warned those engaging in illicit businesses to vacate the community as the big hand of the law will soon catch up with them.
Representatives of both Ugbuwangue community and the Hausa traders at the end of the meeting, resolved to maintain peace and order in Ugbuwangue community.
